Rollerblade Fury Aggressive Skates Review

Rollerblade Fury Aggressive SkatesIf you are not sure your child will get into aggressive inline skating, you might want to get these. However, if they like the sport, they will most certainly want a REAL pair of aggressive skates within a month. Having decent equipment makes all the difference. I would recommend Razor or USD Junior skates which run around 100 bucks and are adjustable up to 4 sizes. The TRS Junior skate by rollerblade is better than this Fury skate, but not nearly as good as the other 2 junior skates mentioned. If you are not a junior size, I would recommend any other Rollerblade aggressive models...some are as cheap as 130$ or any Razor models.I have been skating for 11 year and have taught for many years.

K2 Moto 90 Mens Inline Skates Review

K2 Moto 90 Mens Inline SkatesI purchased these skates at the age of 54 to learn to roller blade. I used to ice skate at an average level and ski at an advanced level several years ago. Although they were not reccomended for beginner skaters I was up and going in about 15 minutes doing the bare basics. Very happy to purchase protective wear tho, already saved myself a wrist and an elbow injury.
That said these skates are great, fit perfectly, (size 10 was size 10) no excess movement in the frame, built quite well compared to others I looked at. Interestingly enough, they were actually better than the smaller wheeled skates reccomended for beginners with better bearings, frames and boots as well as better pricing than the lesser quality ones. I went blading over relatively coarse concrete and they rolled well and yet gripped the pavement well. I was pleasantly amazed. The only issue was they came in white with blue trim instead of the picture shown which was gray and red. I just got a helmet to match the protective wear non gloss black and they are just fine, I could care less about the color. I would reccomend these to beginning skaters who are slightly heavy and have skated or skied before. Very sturdy yet comfortable and light on the feet. Get protective wear tho esp wrist pads. I wish I would have tried this years ago. These beat the four wheel ones I learned to skate on back in the skating rink days when it was two + two rather than 4 in-line.

Rollerblade Crossfire II 90 Inline Skates Review

Rollerblade Crossfire II 90 Inline SkatesI am still a beginner, and I find these to be excellent inline skates. My opinion might not matter much, but I think these strike a fine balance between being cheap enough for the novice to buy without fear of losing money and good enough for the skilled to use without noticing any lack in features.
Comfortable fit also, assuming you use the "half a size larger" rule. My shoe size is around 12, so I got 12.5 (I think this applies to the Rollerblade brand only; other brands might require different adjustments for size).
I don't have a single complaint with these, and I would recommend them even more for the beginner, since I've found these to be an excellent first pair of inline skates.

Rollerblade Pro XT Inline Skates Review

Rollerblade Pro XT Inline SkatesMy first impression was of amazement and excitement when I received my skates. Unfortunately, my happiness started to fade away when I first used them. The first flaw in the design are the wheels. I was skating in a basemanet (smooth floor) and my wheels started to crack everywhere. On the third day of skating, one of wheels was completeley destroyed, even though I never took the skates through a rough surface.

Even though, I had a bad experience with the wheels, I quickly changed them for some Hyper Wheels. Things ran smoother after that, until yesterday (two weeks later!!!) when the joint on my boot fell off. So now, one of my skates is not supporting my leg or ankle, making me wobble from side to side.

I don't know if it's just my luck, or this product is faulty, since a friend of mine (a girl) has bought the same skates (but obviously te women's line), and she has no complains until now.

As for me, I'm buying a new pair of skates, since these hace caused me a lot of trouble. If you need more proof, here's a link with some photos of my wheel and the skate that broke:

Hope this review helps you in your decision...

Bladerunner Girls Phaser 4-Size Adjustable Skate Review

Bladerunner Girls Phaser 4-Size Adjustable SkateThese skates seem to be good enough quality, however I feel there is a MAJOR flaw in sizing. My 8 yr old daughter wears a size 1 1/2 shoe.I ordered the 1-4 size so she could use them for a while. They are barely long enough even when extended all the way to "4". I won't be getting my money's worth out of these.

Roller Derby Coyote Adjustable Girl's Inline Skates Review

Roller Derby Coyote Adjustable Girl's Inline SkatesI normally wouldn't have spent this much, but her grandmother needed a present for her for around $50 at Christmastime. They are AWESOME!!!! I would buy them again in a heartbeat. For some reason it's a lot easier to skate in these than a lot of others out there. I think it's because the wheels are rubber (vs. plastic) so they grip the floor, rather than slipping. If you are willing to spend the money, these will likely enable you to be way less involved in helping her skate.

K2 Celena Womens Inline Skates Review

K2 Celena Womens Inline SkatesI've been skating for 20 years or so, and I have to say: these are a really good pair of skates for commuting, amature speed skating, and general recreational skating.

For commuting, they're surprisingly fast to get into and out of.There is a velcro strap, a quick plastic ratcheting buckle, and fast-pull laces. The fast pull laces are great: they run into a little ratchet, so to tighten the laces you just pull up on them.To loosen again, press the button on the ratchet. The boots also have large hand loops for the back and tongue of the boot, making it really easy to just grab and shove your feet in.For lazy people like me, fast in / out like this is nice, especially when going off to stores / houses / etc.

The wheels have a nice soft durometer, and the 90mm-ness helps.Skating over brick sidewalks is a lot more comfortable on these than my last pair. The 90mm wheels seem to add a little to speed, but not tremendously.Mostly I notice how the larger wheels seem to grip a bit better before slipping, and the skate's overall lighter weight.Do note that if it is wet out, for some reason water seems to slip in through the heel. Why just the heel, I don't know.

For my particular foot, these skates just *feel* right.I'm not a woman, but the ankle cut on these is a lot more comfortable than the ankle cut on their mens, or the Rollerblade equivalent. It does seem to be a bit narrower than many, so those with wide feet might want to try on a mens or another brand.Of course, trying on different brands / sizes before you order is always a good idea, since for skating the feel is the most important thing.

This may be obvious, but extreme trick skaters might want to look elsewhere.Sure they can jump / ramp / etc.But the bottom wheel frame is a light plastic, and was clearly never intended to take a grind plate. Also note that colors might vary from the photo. The skate that I was shipped was a really stylish white, grey, and black.I'm happy with the difference, but realize that there may be a difference.

Overall, I love these skates.I never thought I would skate a K2, but I'm really happy with the fit and structure of these. They've made my morning commute a more fun and comfortable, and have me thinking of long-distance tour skating. And for the price, these are a great deal.

Rollerblade Men's Fusion X5 Urban Skate Review

Rollerblade Men's Fusion X5 Urban SkateI just ordered 2 pairs of these skates, as I wasn't sure what size I would need. I am returning BOTH of them however because of 1 huge problem with them, that isn't clearly documented anywhere.

If you are looking into these skates, you are most likely interested in them for the same reason that I was. The Fusion X5 skates are said to come with a 243mm frame, with a max wheel size of 80mm. The shorter frame is one of the defining characteristics that sets these skates apart from most fitness/recreational skates, as it allows for faster turns, and makes these skates a decent choice for freestyle and slalom skating.

The problem with this is that the skate does NOT come with a 243mm frame, as they should. The frame on this skate is a 273mm frame, which should be on the Fusion X7's.. not the X5's.

The frame that you actually get on these skates will take up to 90mm wheels, which is great if that's what you want, but is a problem if you are like me, and wanted these skates specifically for the shorter frame.

The boot, and skate, do feel very solid.. to the point that they are fairly difficult to get on and off. They are very well made, and very nice looking. I'm sure this would a great skate, if the frame size isn't an issue for you, so I am still giving it 4 stars.

I did want to post a warning about this however, as it is not mentioned anywhere in the description, or in the other reviews.

Roller Derby Web Stinger Adjustable Girl's Inline Skates Review

Roller Derby Web Stinger Adjustable Girl's Inline SkatesI was very disappointed with these skates! I bought them for my 7 year old. She could not get them on by herself. There are so many pressure points inside the skate and the linings are so thin, we had to use linings form her old pair to make them wearable. The ties in the front are so thin, you cannot pull them tight enough to really make the skate feel secure on the foot. The are very cheap looking, not at all like the picture. NOT at all worth the price!!!

Rollerblade Wing 10 Women's Skate Review

Rollerblade Wing 10 Women's SkateI'm 43 and haven't been on skates much since I was 12.I've enjoyed using these skates with my kids both on a paved trail and at the rink. The boot provides good support to my ankles, and the closures (laces, velcro strap and clasps) allow for a snug fit if desired. The inside of the boot is well-cushioned, and I've not had any issues with blisters.I have high arches and typically wear a 9W.The size 9 fit me fine, though I don't have much extra room in terms of length at the toe so I tend to wear these with thinner socks.I considered purchasing the K2 brand, but found that they run small, are pricer, and did not feel as stable to me in the boot.I did want an aluminum (rather than composite) frame, which these have.I have gotten compliments on the styling. The wheels are fine--they aren't too fast and they do have good control.I'm regaining the ability to turn and skate backward after only a few hours of practice.I was able to pick up a metallic grey helmet and some deeper grey and black Rollerblade brand pads for a (somewhat) coordinated look. Most of the cute ladies' Rollerblade helmets and pads come in blue, and it is hard to match the green in this skate when selecting accessories.Hyper does make a grey and green bag so I was at least able to match my skates to a bag.I'm really enjoying my purchase and recommend this model to any beginner/intermediate skater. The Rollerblade website has some nice animated tutorials if you want to refresh your memory on skills like turning and stopping.

Rollerblade Pro Gear 3 Pack Review

Rollerblade Pro Gear 3 PackI bought this set to go with my Razor Pro kick scooter, which I got to keep up with my four-year old on his scooter rides.I'm 6', average-proportioned/sized guy, and I had some doubts about ordering XL as opposed to just Large, in case the XL set ended up being too large.I finally figured it'd be better to have it a bit too big than a bit too small, so I opted for XL.

The set consists of three pairs of protective gear, for the knees, elbows, and wrist/palm.The elbow and knee pads have stretchy backing, and you pull them through your legs/arms.After properly positioning them, the stretchy velcro strips (about 1" wide) keep them secure in place.

The elbow pads are fine for me, but the knee pads--XL and all--are almost, but not quite, too small for me.My wife says I have "tree-trunk" legs, so that may have something to do with it.I can still wear the knee pads fine, but the velcro pads are a bit too short to go fully around.I can still use them, though.I may do a bit of home-DIY sewing to extend the length of the velcro strap.

The wrist/palm guards are a lot like the wrist braces.A bent piece of rubber-coated metal wrapped in velcro/stretchy brace.Comfortable to wear, although it gets in the way of gripping the scooter handles (figures, as the set probably is designed for rollerblading and not scooter riding).I will probably forego the wrist guards and continue using my cycling gloves.

The components seem well made and durable. For $22 that I paid for the set, I am happy enough with them.I gave it four-star because I feel like an XL set for adults should really be large enough to accommodate those who are larger than my 6ft frame.
