The thinsulate and furry lining are a big benefit for ladies who get cold feet, making them a good choice for cold weather recreational skating. Also, the upper is plenty stiff to provide good ankle supprt. No spraned ankles with these babies.
Overall a good skate for the money ($60).
Now, for my disappointments....
The description says they have a brushed suede upper. To me, suede means "LEATHER". I'm not sure if these are real leather. The box even says vinyl on the side. Not sure if they are referring to the sole or the upper. So, the description is inaccurate. However, the material is very good quality. It actually looks like smooth leather you'd normally find in a white skate, not actual suede. To me, suede means it will have a soft suede like surface, not a smooth polished one. So be careful if you are thinking the same way I do.
Second, and this is the one quality issue I have. I am very disappointed in the blade weld to the base plate. The blade should have a smooth consistent weld connecting the blade to the base plate with no gaps, where moisture can evetually work its way in, and cause corrosion. However, most inexpensive skates will have this type of fast assembly line construction. If the weld was better, I'd overlook the inaccurate description of the upper, and give it 4 stars instead of only 3.
